ABOUT Space Trash Scavenger
Space Trash Scavenger is an open-world survival sandbox set in outer space boasting a blend of crafting, trading, and combat experiences, developed by SquarePlay Games and published by Paradox Arc. We worked with the SquarePlay Games team to provide bespoke support for Space Trash Scavenger before their Early Access release in November 2023.
Our role focused on building upon and assisting SquarePlay Games’ work across menu system functionality, control mapping for both mouse/keyboard and controller input, and the implementation of adaptable quality settings.
Menu Systems
As a survival craft space sandbox, Space Trash Scavenger is reliant upon easy menu navigation. We supported SquarePlay Games in fine-tuning their menu system, balancing intuitiveness and functionality throughout the process.
Control Mapping
With Space Trash Scavenger designed to support both mouse/keyboard and controller input, we contributed to the refinement and implementation of control mapping across these key input methods.
Quality Settings
We assisted SquarePlay Games in introducing flexible quality settings for Space Trash Scavenger, ensuring that players could adapt the game’s presentation to suit their preference and their device.
Positive Reception
Space Trash Scavengers launched in Early Access at the end of 2023, garnering widespread positive reception and Very Positive reviews on Steam. Try the game here.
